Mukoujima Hyakkaen Moon Viewing
Place: Mukoujima Hyakkaen
Time: 9:00 - 21:00(Entrance up to 20:30) -The park is to lit up with Japanese lanterns (‘andon’). You can take a walk through the park while looking up at the full moon.
Japanese harp performances(18:00 - 20:00)and tea ceremonies(15:00 - 20:00)to be held every day throughout the moon viewing event.

(men dressed in clothes of the Kamakura Period shooting arrows while riding on a horse), 17:00 - Suzumushi Houjou-sai

- A large ceremony held for 3 days. Tea ceremonies, flower ceremonies, martial art performances, Japanese traditional dances etc. to be performed as a gift to the gods.
The ‘Yabusame’ is especially famous.

The 40th Fukuro Festival
Place: Ikebukuro St. West Exit Venue etc. Schedule: Sep. 22 Pre-festival/ Sep. 23 12:30 - 20:30 ‘Mikoshi’ Festival
- A large autumn event held based on the theme ‘Oedo’, ‘Tokyo’ and ‘Ikebukuro’.
Ikebukuro Yassa Dance, Kappore (traditional dance from the Edo period), and other local tradional dances from Sado, Okinawa etc. are to be preformed at the Dance Festival (‘Odori-no saiten’) on Sep. 23.
A large ‘Mikoshi’ parade also to be held with approx. 5000 participants.

- An annual festival where you can experience the Edo Period.
Parades and performance showing antiquities from the Edo period, rickshaws, lanterns, Awa-odori dance, marching bands etc. on Sep. 30.

-105 teams, 6000 dancers to dance and compete against each other with the Yosakoi dance.
Teams competing with their original Yosakoi dances such as Samba Yosakoi, Jazz Yosakoi, Rock Yosakoi, etc. |

Asakusa Touroue
